Lenore Orr Branham

Blackstock Mrs. Lenore Orr Branham, 90, died Thursday, February 15, 2018, at her home.A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church with Rev. Matt Horne officiating.Interment will be private.The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday in the fellowship hall of the church. Mrs. Branham was born November 20, 1927 in Chester County, SC and was a daughter of the late Robert Harvey Orr, Sr. and Agnes Henrietta McGarity Orr.She was a graduate of Chester High School class of 1944, Montreat Anderson College, Winthrop College and also did graduate work at USC, PSCE and Westminster Choir School in Princeton, NJ.She retired as a music teacher after a career of 38 years in the public schools system having taught in Chester, York and Fairfield Counties.Mrs. Branham was a member of Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church where she served as choir director for over 60 years.She was also an Elder and served in various other activities of the church.Lenore also enjoyed serving others, gardening, cooking, camping, singing and the Chester Little Theater. She is survived by one son, Steven K. Branham (Beth) of Blackstock; two grandchildren, Krysten Lawson (Jonathan) of Fort Mill and Mitchell Branham of Blackstock; one great grandson, Liam Lawson of Fort Mill; two brothers, Leslie W. Orr (Bonnie) and Hugh Wylie Orr both of Chester; and numerous nieces and nephews.Mrs. Branham was preceded in death by her husband of over 64 years, William Lee “Bill” Branham and a brother, Bobby Orr.
