Mr. Lawrence Edward Shuler, Sr., 87, died Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill.A memorial service will be held 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Armenia United Methodist Church with Rev. Eric Shepard officiating.The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the social hall of the church.The interment will be private. Born July 14, 1928 in Orangeburg County, SC, Mr. Shuler was the son of the late Dennis F. Shuler and Ruth Dantzler Shuler.He attended the schools of Charleston, SC and was a veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean War.He was retired from the Charleston Naval Shipyard and the Chester News and Reporter and was also a beef cattle farmer.He was an active member of Armenia United Methodist Church and Sandy River Masonic Lodge #207. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Lawrence Edward “Larry” Shuler, Jr. and a granddaughter Rebecca Lee Adair. He is survived by his wife of over fifty-eight years, Shirley Atkinson Shuler; three daughters, Jan Lee of Beaufort, SC, Beth Bagwell and her husband Chuck of Abbeville, SC and Mary Lou Pundt and her husband Van of York, SC; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
