Laura Jane Stephenson Cook

Chester Mrs. Laura Jane Stephenson Cook, 69, died Monday, November 13, 2023, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Barron Funeral Home with Brother Tommy Fulp officiating. Interment will follow in Armenia United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM Wednesday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Born January14, 1954 in Chester, SC, Laura was a daughter of the late Avon Lee Stephenson and Donnie Laura Green Stephenson. She was a graduate of Keenan High School Class of 1972 and also held an Associates Degree. Laura was an insurance underwriter career woman. She was a helpmate, a mother, a Maw-Maw and a "Lala". Laura was a lady of many talents who loved crafting, embroidery and quilting. She was a classically trained pianist at a very young age. As a youth and an adult, Laura played softball. She was also a member of the GAs and a Children's Sabbath School teacher. She is survived by her husband of over 39 years, Dale Cook; four children, Beckie Disanto (Noah) of Chester, SC, Will Hopkins of Columbia, SC, Dale Madison Cook (Karena) of Lexington, KY and Andrew Nathaniel Cook of Gaston, SC; seven grandchildren, Tristan Disanto (Brandy) of Rock Hill, SC, Farria Maria Hopkins (Josh) of Lexington, SC, Madison Chavis, Whitney Elliott, Dylan Burke, Braylan Burke and Kendall Cook; and numerous great grandchildren who loved to call her "Lala".
