Larry Leroy Shelmire

Chester Mr. Larry Leroy Shelmire, 77, died Monday, September 7, 2015, at his home.A memorial service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating.Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Thursday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mr. Shelmire was born February 12, 1938 in Willow Grove Pennsylvania and was a son of the late Leroy B. Shelmire and Viola Hobensack Shelmire.He was a graduate of Hatboro High School in Pennsylvania and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Korea.Mr. Shelmire retired from Standard Press Steel in Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife of over 14 years, Ramona May Shelmire; two stepsons, Adam C. Anderson and wife Kelsey of Rock Hill and Jack Pella of Pennsylvania; one stepdaughter, Nancy; and several nieces and nephews.Mr. Shelmire was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Lucera.
