Kenneth Welborn Tate

TAYLORS, SC Mr. Kenneth Welborn Tate, 77, died Monday, May 18, 2015 at his residence after a long battle with heart disease. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Lee Road Baptist Church in Taylors, SC.The family will receive friends from 12:00pm- 1:30pm prior to the funeral service. Born November 5, 1937 in Pelzer, SC, Kenneth was the son of the late Clarence Welborn and JoAnn Walls Tate.He was a graduate of Greenville High School, class of 1956, and a Veteran of the Army National Guard.He was retired from Overnight Transportation and a member of Lee Road Baptist Church.Kenneth enjoyed the game of golf and was a Mason and longtime member of the Greenville Shrine Club, but his true love was being a husband, father, and PawPaw. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Duane Lord Tate; son, Joseph Tate and wife Melodie of Chester, SC; daughter, Diane Haynes of Greenville, SC; sister, Debbie Trumbo (Steve) of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Haley, Mallory, Jackson and Brayden; as well as several nieces and nephews.
