Born on January 28, 1942 in Lincolnton, NC, he was the son of John Wriley McKeown and Julia Hall McKeown. He attended the schools of Chester County. Kenny was a life long member of First Baptist Church of Lowrys. He loved his friends in The Men’s Bible Class and was a faithful member and attended many church activities.
Kenny was called a “Prayer Warrior”. If you were sick or hurting, he would pick up his phone and call with the sweetest and loving prayer. While visiting Kenny, he would always offer a prayer before you left. Prior to his move, Kenny was a member of Lowrys Ruritan Club and later attending Ruritan in Shelby, with his new friends.
Kenny was a friend to many; he loved Chester and his frequent visits downtown. A dedicated USC Gamecock fan, he attended most games for years with his buddies. Kenny was a loving person and will be missed by his family and many friends.
He is survived by his sisters Gloria McKeown O’Donnell and husband Allan of Tupelo, Miss. and Brenda McKeown Cabrey and husband Jack of Beaufort, SC. Sister-in-law Voneva McKeown of York, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and brother John Edgar McKeown.
The family wishes to express sincere appreciation to the staff at The Greens and Brookdale Assisted Living in Gastonia for their love, devotion and professional care for Kenny.
