Chester Mr. Kenneth Eugene Jennings, age 89, of Chester, SC died Thursday, December 17, 2009.Funeral services will be held at3:00 PM on Monday, December 21, 2009 at Calvary Baptist Church in Chester with the Rev. David Sealey officiating.Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Born September 24, 1920 in Lawrence Co., Tennessee, he was a son of the late William Nathaniel and Ora Mink Jennings.He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lucille Estes Jennings.He was a retired insurance agent for Life of Georgia.He was a graduate of Lawrence County High School and attended Draughns Business College in Nashville, Tennessee.He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in World War II.Mr. Jennings was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, choir member, and Sunday School Director for many years.He served as Trustee for 40 years on the Board of Fairfield Electric Co-Op.He was a member of the Chester County Cattleman's Assn. and the Piedmont Area of the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill. He was also a beef cattle farmer. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Eugene Estes Jennings of Easley, SC and Gary Keith Jennings, Sr. of Chester, SC; three grandchildren, Lori, Keith, Jr. and Heather Jennings; four brothers, Karon R. Jennings of McMinnville, Tn., Neal Jennings of Huntsville, Al., Willie Jennings of Burlington, NC, and Harold Jennings of Reidsville, NC. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 20 at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC.
