Katie Bruce Ballard Faulk

Chester: Mrs. Katie Bruce Ballard Faulk, 89, died Friday, September 3, 2010 at Chester Regional Medical Center. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday, September 5, 2010 at Saluda Street Church of God with Reverend Jimmie Cox and Reverend Don Etters officiating. Interment will be held in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM in the fellowship hall of the church and other times at the home of Tommy and Darlene Steen, 1186 Simple Farm Road, Chester, SC. Mrs. Faulk was born in Kennesaw, GA on April 10, 1921, a daughter of the late William Isaac Bruce and Iowa Thomas Bruce. She attended the schools of Kennesaw, Ga,was a member of Second Baptist Church, Chester, SC and was retired from Springs Industries as a spooler. Mrs. Faulk is survived by two daughters, Patsy B. Rash and her husband Wesley and Donna B. Varnadore and her husband Donnie all of Chester, SC; two step-sons, Gene Faulk and Carl Faulk and his wife Janie all of Rock Hill, SC; nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and five great-great- grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her husband?s Hugh ?Bill? Ballard and Auber Faulk and two brothers and four sisters. Memorials may be made to Saluda Street Church of God ?Debt Reduction Fund?, PO Box 633, Chester, SC 29706.
