Chester Mrs. Katharine Hancock Stricker, 95, died Thursday, May 04, 2017, at Chester Regional Nursing Center in Chester, SC.A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. James Sanders officiating.Interment will follow at Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, May 5, 2017 at Barron Funeral Home and other times at the home of Nancy and Jerry Hall at 202 Hardin Street Extension. Born December 19, 1921, in Chester, SC she was a daughter of the late John Henry Hancock and Lula Jane Taylor Hancock and the widow of Henry Glenn Stricker, Sr.Mrs. Stricker attended the schools of Chester County and retired from Chester Sportswear and also retired from Chester Senior Services as a Senior Companion with over 20 years of service.She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church.Mrs. Stricker enjoyed many years of working in her yard and tending her flowers.She was very crafty person and an accomplished seamstress. Mrs. Stricker is survived by her three children, Brenda Boyd (Dennis) of Blackstock, SC, Nancy Hall (Jerry) of Chester, SC and Robert Stricker (Teresa) of Chester, SC; twelve grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Clack, Ellen Sentelle and Ruth Welchel Howard; and one son, Henry Glenn Stricker, Jr. Memorials may be made to First Free Will Baptist Church, P.
