CHESTER: Mrs. Karey Judith Sligh Caldwell Wells, 69, died Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House.A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April19, 2014 at Barron Funeral Home with Mr. Mark Wyatt officiating.The interment will be private.The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Barron Funeral Home. Born September 12, 1944 in Newberry, SC, Mrs. Wells was a daughter of the late George Jacob Sligh, Jr and Elizabeth Ray O’dell Sligh.She was a graduate of Newberry High School and Columbia Hospital School of Nursing.She retired from the Chester County Nursing Home as aregistered nurse.She previously served on Chester County Arts Council and volunteered at the Chester Regional Nursing Center. She is survived by her husband of over seven years William Crofoot Wells; four sons, Chip Caldwell (Donna) of Newberry, SC, Chris Caldwell (Edie) of Lancaster, SC, Charlie Caldwell of Lakewood, WA and Jason Caldwell (Nikkie) of Rock Hill, SC one daughter, Jennica Wells Kalbaugh of Frederick, Maryland; ten grandchildren, Chase, Cade, Rynne, Gracyn, Tillman, Charleigh, Jakob Caldwell, Travis and Lily Greene and Sawyer Kalbaugh and two sisters, Melinda Sue Sligh Kerns (Frank) of Newberry, SC and Jinna Sligh Crouch (Glenn) of Saluda, SC.
