Josephine "Jo" Tadlock Darby

Chester Mrs. Josephine “Jo” Tadlock Darby passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at her home surrounded by her loving family. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Chester Memorial Gardenswith Rev. Steve Kirby officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, November 21, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mrs. Darby was born in Chester County, SC and was a daughter of the late Horace Eugene Tadlock and Nora Roberts Tadlock.She was a graduate of Lewisville High School class of 1956 where she excelled in basketball and she later attended Winthrop College.Mrs. Darby worked at several businesses in Chester as a retail clerk and bookkeeper and later owned and operated Darby Realty until her retirement. She is survived by her husband of over 58 years, Douglas O’Neale Darby, Sr.; two sons, Douglas O’Neale Darby, Jr. and Joseph Horace Darby both of Chester; one daughter, Jane Darby Glynn (Joe) of Panama City Beach, Fl.; two grandchildren, Shaun Douglas Darby (Dana) of Chester and Isabella Josephine Glynn of Panama City Beach, Fl.; one great-granddaughter, Peyton Mae Darby of Chester; and one great-grandson, Charles O’Neale Darby of Chester.She was preceded in death by her beloved poodle “Buffy”.
