Joseph Edward Wishert

Carlisle, SC Mr. Joseph Edward Wishert, 79, died Friday, August 4, 2023, at NHC Healthcare Parklane in Columbia, SC. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, August 7, 2023, at Cool Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth “Skeet” Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday in the sanctuary of Cool Branch Baptist Church, 10725 State Hwy. 215 N., Blair, SC 29015. Mr. Wishert was born September 11, 1943 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Joseph Thomas Wishert and Mary Eubanks Wishert. He was a graduate of Monticello High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during Vietnam. Joe retired from Carlisle Printing and Finishing as a helicopter mechanic. He was a member of Leeds Baptist Church. Joe loved racing and building some racing engines as a hobby and also enjoyed dirt bike racing. Joe loved his veteran friends and looked forward to breakfast with them. He is survived by one son, Alex Wishert of Fayetteville, NC and his step-son Michael Pearson (Lee) of Clover, SC. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Teresa Pearson Wishert and a daughter, Heidi Wishert.
