CHESTER Mr. Joseph Alexander Barber, Sr, 50, died Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill, SC. The funeral service will be 4:00 PM Wednesday at Orrs Baptist Church with Reverend Randall Runion and Rev. Eric Windstead officiating.Interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 8:00 PM Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester, SC. Born October 2, 1959 in Chester, SC, Mr. Barber was a son of John Crawford Barber, Jr. and Shirley Kay Price Barber.He attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Matthews Construction as a carpenter.He was a US Army Veteran and a member of Orrs Baptist Church.He was an avid motorcyclist, hunter and fisherman. In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife, Candy McCormick Barber; one son, Joseph Alexander Barber, Jr. of Kentucky; three daughters, Kacey Barber of California, Layne R. Clement of Chester and Caylon Evans of Chester; three grandchildren; three brothers, Johnny C. Barber, III of Chester, Jeffrey P. Barber of Manchester, KY and Jerry S. Barber of Norfolk, VA; three sisters, Kay B. Wessinger, Jean Ann Sisk and Jane Ellen Spotloe all of Chester. He was preceded in death by a brother Carl James Barber.
