Johnson Lee "Jack" Hoke

Chester, SC: Mr. Johnson Lee Hoke, 88, died Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law in Chester, South Carolina.A funeral service will be held 2:00 Friday, May 1, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Conover, NC with Pastor Scott Johnson officiating.The intermentwill be in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends 1:00 – 1:45 PM Friday, May 1, 2015 at St. John’s Lutheran Church. Born May 13, 1926, in Claremont, NC, Mr. Hoke was the son of the late Holland Lee Hoke, Sr. and Virginia Roseman Hoke and the widower of Mary Sigmon Hoke, having been married over fifty-nine years. He attended the schools of Claremont, NC and was an upholsterer for Conover Chair Company.Mr. Hoke was a lifetime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church. He is survived by two sons, Steven Hoke of Claremont, NC and Douglas Hoke and his wife Pam of Ennice, NC; one daughter Kathy H. Roberts and her husband Clyde of Chester, SC; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren. Mr. Hoke was preceded in death by a son Michael Lee Hoke and eight brothers and sisters. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2126 St. John’s Church Road, Conover, NC 28613.
