John Robert Taylor

Blackstock Mr. John Robert Taylor, 95, died Monday, March 7, 2022 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Cornwell Presbyterian Church with Rev. Tim Foster officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends immediately following the service and other times at the home. Mr. Taylor was born November 5, 1926 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Tyre Lucius Taylor and Sarah Lewis Boney Taylor. He was a graduate of Chester High School and attended Clemson College. He was a retired dairy farmer and was currently an active cattle farmer. Mr. Taylor was a member and President of Farmers Mutual Insurance, a founding member of South Chester Fire Department where he was actively involved for over 50 years and also a veteran of the US Navy having served during WWII. He was a member and Deacon of Cornwell Presbyterian Church. He is survived by three daughters, Jackie T. Foster (Tim), Miriam T. Boyd (Harden) and Janice T. Dahnke (Jeff) all of Blackstock, SC; four grandchildren, Travis (Zora), Courtney, Whitney and Joshua (Elizabeth); four great-grandchildren, Cade, Rayna, Brittany and Jeremiah; numerous nieces and nephew; his caregiver, Vicki Clark of Chester, SC. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Anna Benton Taylor; sister, Sarah Cassels; two grandchildren, Timothy Ryan Foster and Jason Samuel Foster.
