John Kenneth Lloyd "Toby" Lathan

CHESTER, SC: Mr. John Kenneth Lloyd “Toby” Lathan, 74, died Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC.The funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Parkway Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Dorsey officiating.The interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 PM Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Parkway Baptist Church. Born May 15, 1940 in Great Falls, SC, Mr. Lathan was the son of the late John and Eva Mae Lucas Lathan.He was a graduate of Lewisville High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Lathan was retired from the City of Tega Cay as Public Works Director.He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church, the American Pigeon Racing Association and a past member of the Filbert Pigeon Racing Club He is survived by his wife of over thirty years, Linda Albert Lathan; one daughter, Wendi Lathan Faircloth of Fort Lawn, SC; one granddaughter, Allysa Boulware of Fort Lawn, SC; one grandson, Lathan “Lake” Faircloth of Fort Lawn, SC; two sisters, Ida Mae Bennett (Clingmon) of Great Falls, SC and Margaret Long (Joe) of Edgemoor, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by a sister, Orma Curtis.
