John Thomas Estes

Great Falls, SC: John Thomas Estes, Sr., 70, died Sunday, March 20 , 2022 at Regency Hospital of Florence, A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Evergreen Cemetery, Chester, SC with Reverend Michael Shaffer officiating. The family will receive friends at the graveside immediately following the service. Mr. Estes was born in Chester, South Carolina on April 7, 1951 and was a son of the late Clarence Neely Estes, Sr. and Mary Katherine Gregory Estes. He was a graduate of Chester High School through the GED program and was retired from SCDOT and was previously employed with Springs Industries for over twenty years. John was a Mason and a Shriner . He attended Canaan Free Will Baptist Church in Lancaster, SC. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, John Thomas Estes, Jr. and his brothers, Clarence Neely Estes, Jr. and Larry Hennis Estes. He is survived by his wife of over twenty-nine years, Kay Rose Estes; one daughter, Lynn Walden (Kelli) of Lancaster, SC; his sister, Debora Estes Dreher (John) and his sister-in-law, Robbie Estes all of Chester, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
