CHESTER Mr. John Gregory Eden, 56, died Wednesday,December 26, 2012 at his home.A celebration of Life Service will be held 3:00 P.M. Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Barron Funeral Home with Charles G. Eden officiating.The interment will be private.The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 PM Sunday at Barron Funeral Home. Born July 19, 1956 in San Bernardino, CA, Mr. Eden was the son of Marion Elizabeth Tolson Shoemaker and the late Donald Paul Eden.He was a graduate of Augusta Military Academy in Virginia.Mr. Eden was a self employed as a master carpenter. John Eden was a great man.The wisdom and knowledge he instilled on all who had the pleasure of knowing him impacted their lives forever.He was a devoted and loving husband to Lora Elizabeth Eden for twenty-eight years.“Against All Odds” was their song and they lived exactly that way.Together they overcame any obstacles and struggles that were presented to them.Together they produced three beautiful children.John Eden would always say “Do as I say, never as I do”! He taught his children how to survive, how to love and how to never give up! John Eden was a jack of all trades and master of everything.Darts was his game of choice and he very seldom lost!Over the years he acquired the nick name “Wise Ant Eater”.He was the voice of reason and the life of any party.It was truly an honor to have known such a great man!He will always be remembered and missed dearly. In addition to his mother, he was survived by his wife of over twenty-eight years, Lora Walker Eden; two sons, Charles G. Eden of Columbia, SC and Samuel J. Eden of Richburg, SC; one daughter, Josephine Eden Lewis and her husband Michael of Chester; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Lewis, Emily Lewis, Elannah Lewis, andEmela Lewis all of Chester; one sister, Terri E. Stafford of Townsend, GA and Travis Killian of Columbia, SC, whom he loved as a son. Online condolences for the family can be made at www.barronfuneralhome.com.
