CHESTER, SC: Mr. John Edward Cooper, Sr, 75, died Monday, September 28, 2015 at his home.The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Parkway Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Dorsey and Rev. Don Etters officiating.The interment will be at Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Thursday, October 1 , 2015 in the sanctuary of the church. Born February 21, 1940 in Chester, SC, Mr. Cooper was a son of the late John Blackman Cooper and Margaret Cooke Cooper.He was a graduate of Chester High School and retired from Carlisle Printing and Finishing as a supervisor.Mr. Cooper was a faithful member of Parkway Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and gardening.He was an avid Gamecock football fan and a Jeff Gordon fan. He is survived by his wife of over fifty-four years, Peggy Daniel Cooper; one daughter, Robin C. Levister of Chester: one son, John E. “John John” Cooper and his wife Kim of Chester; three grandchildren, Daniel Zarko and his wife Shay of Buffalo, Minnesota, Jonathan Corey Cooper of Chester and Breanna Leigh Zarko and her fiancé Justin of Rock Hill; one brother, Robert E. “Gene” Cooper and his wife Shirley of Chester, SC; four great-grandchildren, Colt, Kyra, Thompson and Savannah.He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Rawls, nephew, Keith Rawls and a niece Jeanette Rawls.
