John Howard "Bubba" Colvin

Chester, SC: John Howard "Bubba" Colvin, 90, died Friday, February 18, 2022 at his home. A graveside Service will be held 11:00 AM Monday February 21, 2022 at Armenia United Methodist Church Cemetery with Reverend's James Curran and Chris Snelgrove officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery immediately following the service. He was the son of the late Janie O'Donnell Colvin and John Guy Colvin both of Chester. Mr. Colvin was a long time resident of Chester, having attended Chester Schools from which he graduated in the Class of 1953. He attended Wofford College and served in the United States Navy for four years and was stationed in Germany for quite sometime. Bubba was a self-employed cattle farmer. He owned and operated Ireland Acres Farm until his death. Much of his adult life, Bubba served as a United Methodist Lay Minister at Capers Chapel United Methodist Church where he was a member. He was married to the late Jean Frazer Colvin with whom he had a son, Jarvis Howard Colvin (Tammy). After the death of Jean, he was later married to Rebecca Massebeau Parrot Colvin. In addition to his son, Mr. Colvin is survived by Grandson, Jarvis Frazer Colvin (Jenny) of Chester, SC and two great-grandchildren, Jay and Briley Colvin.
