CHESTER Mr. John Blackmon Cooper, 92, of 622 Still Street died Monday, December 01, 2008 at Chester Regional Medical Center in Chester. The funeral will be 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Chester Second Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Bishop and Rev. Don Etters officiating.Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Born in Gaffney, SC on April 17, 1916, Mr. Cooper was a son of the late John Blackmon Cooper and Mamie Etters Cooper.He was a Chester High School graduate and a US Navy veteran of WWII.He was retired from Springs Industries as assistant director of food services.He was a member of the American Legion, Springs Golden Age Club and Chester Second Baptist Church.He was an avid golfer and the widower of Margaret Cooke Cooper. He is survived by two sons, Robert E. ?Gene? Cooper and his wife Shirleyand John E. Cooper and his wife Peggy all of Chester; one sister, Yvonne C. McDill of Chester; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by a daughter Mary E. Rawls and a grandson Keith Rawls. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 7:30 pm Tuesday evening at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester.
