Joe Wylie Mcmahan, Sr.

Mr. Joe Wylie McMahan Sr. 80, died Saturday, September 21, 2024 at Piedmont Medical Center. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 25 2024 at Orr’s Baptist Church with Rev. Daniel Wightman officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM also Wednesday September 25, 2024 at Orr’s Baptist Church. Interment will be private. Mr. McMahan was born June 18, 1944 in Union, SC and was a son of the late William Samuel McMahan and Naomi Ruth Rutledge McMahan. He was a graduate of Chester High School and York Tech. Mr. McMahan was retired from Springs Industries and was owner and operator of Joe’s Repair Service. He was a veteran of the US Army and a member of Orr’s Baptist Church where he served as Deacon, choir member and served on the building and grounds committee. He is survived by his wife Ann Doster McMahan; one son, Joe W. McMahan Jr. (Tammy) of Chester, SC; one daughter, Julie Henderson (Chip) of Chester, SC; one step-son, Johnny McKay, III (Crystal) of Chester, SC; four grandchildren, Amanda Henderson, Brittany Holcombe, Brandon Henderson and Oksana Hartsock; five great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Carrico, Willow Hartsock, Wyatt Holcombe, Myles Holcombe and Nova Curtis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his late wife Ann Collins McMahan; his brothers, Doc McMahan and Wes McMahan and his sisters, Annie Mae Craig, Hazel McWatters and Racheal Pitts and his son Joseph McMahan.
