Taylors, SC Mrs. Jo Duane Lord Tate, 78, died Sunday, June 11, 2017, at the home of her son in Chester, SC.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, June 14, 2017, at Lee Road Baptist Church in Taylors, SC with Rev. Todd Stewart officiating.Interment will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 14, at Lee Road Baptist Church, 1503 East Lee Rd., Taylors, SC. Mrs. Tate was born November 22, 1938 in Greenville, SC and was a daughter of the late Harold J. Lord and Francis J. Lord.She was a graduate of the class of 1957 of Greenville High School.Mrs. Tate was a homemaker who enjoyed baking but more than anything enjoyed spending time with her family.They were her pride and joy and she “loved them to pieces”.She cherished the relationship she shared with her sister-in-law, Debbie and her childhood friend, Janet.Mrs. Tate was a member of Lee Road Baptist Church where she was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class which she loved dearly. She is survived by her son, Joseph Welborn Tate and wife, Melodie of Chester, her daughter, Diane Haynes of Greenville; four grandchildren, Haley, Mallory, Jackson and Brayden; and several nieces and nephews.Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Kenneth Welborn Tate; a sister, Betty Zane Snow; and a brother, James T.
