Jimmy Donald Hinson

Mr. Jimmy Donald Hinson, 79, died Sunday, February 12, 2023 at his home. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM, Thursday, February 16, 2023 at First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Jon Parrish officiating. Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Thursday, February 16 at the church. Mr. Hinson was born March 20, 1943 in York County, SC and was a son of the late William Elmore Hinson and Pearlie Mae Jordan. He was a graduate of Lewisville High School and York Tech. Mr. Hinson was retired from Rock Hill School District 3 as a Graphic Arts Teacher and was a scoutmaster of troop 62 for over 35 years. He was a carpenter and remodeled several homes. He is survived by his wife of over 58 years Ruth Miller Hinson; one son, Eric Hinson (Wendy) of Chester, SC; two grandchildren, Nathan and Jordan Hinson; one sister, Betty Lou Thompson of Richburg, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
