It is with heavy hearts and cherished memories we announce the peaceful passing of Jimmie Blaylock Stewart, who gently departed this world on May 12, 2026, and entered the loving embrace of the Lord. Born on March 26, 1932, in Chester, SC. Jimmie was a beacon of love, faith, and resilience to all who knew her.
Jimmie was the daughter of the late James Franklin and Mary Estelle Poston Blaylock and she was predeceased by her beloved husband, Fred O. Stewart, Sr. with whom she shared 68 years of marriage and a life rich in devotion and happiness.
After graduating from Chester High School in 1950 Jimmie embarked on a 40-year career in the banking industry. Her professional journey began in the Clerk of Court’s office before she moved on to People’s National Bank, eventually retiring from Wachovia National Bank.
Jimmie’s spiritual journey began in her childhood at Second Baptist Church, in Chester, where she discovered her faith in Jesus and became an active Sunday School teacher and choir member. In later years she moved to Rock Hill and became a beloved member at Covenant Presbyterian Church.
Sewing, cooking, gardening and reading were some of her greatest passions, but nothing could hold her attention like a good jigsaw puzzle. She enjoyed numerous hours at her puzzling table, always with an open invitation for anyone to join her.
Jimmie is survived by her children Fred O. Stewart, Jr (Sandra), Sheila Stewart (Mike Lollis), her brother, Carl O. Blaylock, her grandchildren, Whitney Ford (David), Andrea Ayers (Brandon), her dear bonus daughter, Judy Krenzer (Rick), and four great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jimmie’s life at 12:00 noon on Friday, May 15, 2026, at Covenant Presbyterian Church, located at 1830 Celanese Road. Rock Hill, SC 29732. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Chester Memorial Gardens located at 945 West End Road, Chester, SC 29706. The family will be available to receive friends following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church, 1830 Celanese Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732; Chester Freedom Ministries, 729 Village Drive, Chester, SC 29706, or Hospice and Community Care, 2275 India Hook Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732.
The family extends special thanks to the staff at The Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House for their loving care and concern during Jimmie’s stay.
