ROCK HILL, SC: Family and friends are celebrating the life and mourning the loss this week of Jewel Crain Strange Bigger, 78, who died Saturday, December 13, 2014 at Westminster Rehabilitation Center in Rock Hill, SC.A celebration of her life will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at First Baptist Church with Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating.The interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday, December 15, 2014 at Barron Funeral Home. Born January 4, 1936 in Greenville, SC, Mrs. Bigger was a daughter of the late Croel Mooney Crain and Elsie Collins Crain.She was a graduate of Taylors High School and retired with thirty-two years of dedicated service for the South Carolina Highway Patrol District 4 office in Chester.She was very active in the South Carolina Law Enforcement Officers Association, holding different state level offices.She was also a member and office holder in the American Business Women’s Association.She was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Chester where she was very active and even worked in the church office before her employment with the Highway Department.She loved to travel and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family for whom she delighted in cooking and entertaining.She was an excellent cook, as those that knew her and had eaten at her table would agree. She is survived by her husband Walter Eugene Bigger, and two daughters, Susan Strange Anderson and her husband Leonard C. of Chester, Angela Elizabeth Strange of Rock Hill, SC, her special “adopted” son, Clark Fennell, three grandchildren Sarkis Zoubian, Clyde Thomas Zoubian both of Rock Hill and Leonard G. Anderson, of San Antonio, Texas; two great grandchildren, Aiden Anderson and Carlie Anderson of Collinsville, Illinois; a sister, Elizabeth Crain Stephens and her husband Gene of Taylors, SC.She was preceded in death by her son, Clyde Nesbitt “Skip” Strange, Jr., and a granddaughter Elyse Anderson.
