Simpsonville, SC Mrs. Jewel Annette Jones Colvin, 84, died Friday, October 8, 2021, at her home.A graveside service will be held at 11:30 AM Friday, October 15, 2021, at Woodward Baptist Church Cemetery, 1570 Ashford Rd., Chester, SC with Rev. Clay Waldrip officiating.The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Friday, October 15, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mrs. Colvin was born June 6, 1937 in York County, SC and was a daughter of the late Johnny W. Jones and Virginia Lucille Curtis Jones.She was a graduate of Gastonia High School, Gastonia, NC and retired from Chester County Clerk of Court having served as Deputy Clerk for 20 years.She was a member of First Baptist Church, Chester for more than 60 years where she kept the Nursery. She is survived by one son, James Kerry Colvin (Fonya) of Simpsonville; one daughter, Rhonda Colvin Parker (Scott) of Rock Hill; five grandchildren, Jonathan Thomas (Nicole) of Litchfield, NH, Evan Colvin of Simpsonville, Jenna Cullen (Zach) of Chester, Anna Catoe (Mike) of Rock Hill, and Scott Parker, Jr. of Rock Hill; six great grandchildren, Lincoln Thomas and Ashton Thomas both of Litchfield, NH; Gunnar Cullen, Kayson Cullen, Oakley Cullen all of Chester and Cash Catoe of Rock Hill; two sisters, Iris Jackson (Joe) of Pawleys Island and Debbi Adams (Phil) of Topsail Beach, NC; two brothers, Randall Jones of Little River and Tom Jones (Pat) of WV; a sister-in-law, Iris Kinard of Blackstock; and several nieces and nephews.Mrs. Colvin was preceded in death by her husband of over 35 years, James Berry “Cooter” Colvin, Jr. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 140 Stoneridge Dr., Ste. 210, Columbia, SC 29210.
