Chester Mrs. Jennie Lyle Lesslie Dodds, 103, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013.The funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at Chester ARP Church on with Rev. Clint Davis, Rev. Dwight Pearson, and Rev. Bill Blakey officiating.Interment will follow in the Armenia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 2:45 PM on Saturday, January 12, at Chester ARP Church. Mrs. Dodds was born August 24, 1909 in Lesslie, SC and was a daughter of the late James Wylie Lesslie and Mary Matilda Gettys Lesslie and the widow of John James Dodds, Jr.She was a graduate of Rock Hill High School, Winthrop College, and Columbia College.Mrs. Dodds was a retired elementary and special education teacher with Chester County Schools and was a member of Chester ARP Church. She is survived by one daughter, Barbara Dodds Beam of Chester; one son, John James “Jimmy” Dodds, III and wife Linda of Chester; four grandchildren, Angela Dodds Bagley and husband Jimmy of Rock Hill, Ellis Beam of Chester, Kip Beam and wife Robin of Blackstock, and Jane Beam of Chester; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and one sister, Lavinia Braswel of Columbia, SC.She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Arthur Beam; three brothers, James Wylie Lesslie, Robert Lesslie, and Roddey Lesslie; and five sisters, Margaret Lesslie, Lelia Lesslie Bradshaw, Mattie Lesslie Connoly, Polly Lesslie Givens, and Anna Lesslie Cameron.
