Jeff Keenon

Jeff "Crow" Keenon, 65, of Chester, South Carolina, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 30, 2026, after passing away unexpectedly at his home.

Born on July 8, 1961, in Chester, South Carolina, Jeff was a lifelong resident of the community he loved. He was the devoted husband of Patty Keenon for 40 wonderful years and a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Patty Keenon; his son, Chad Keenon (Courtney); his daughter, Kaylon Keenon (fiancé, Will Clark); and his three treasured grandchildren, Jaxston Keenon, Weslyn Keenon and Abree Marcrom. He is also survived by his father, Tommy Keenon; his brother, Mike Keenon; his mother-in-law, Ann King; his brother-in-law, Tommy Whitesides (Amy); and many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Keenon and his sister-in-law, Sheila Keenon.

Jeff dedicated his life to providing for his family through hard work and unwavering commitment. He worked for Duke Power for 18 years before spending more than 24 years with Hall Contracting Corporation, where he continued his career after the company was acquired by State Utilities. He took great pride in his work and was known as a dependable employee who could always be counted on to get the job done right. As Jeff often demonstrated through both his work and personal projects, if it wasn't going to be done right, it wasn't going to be done at all.

After decades of faithful service, Jeff retired in July 2026 and looked forward to spending more time with Patty, his children, and especially his grandchildren. Though his retirement was brief, the memories he created and the love he shared will remain with those who knew him forever.

Jeff was happiest outdoors. He loved working in his yard, cutting grass with his headphones on and spending time on his beloved Bobcat and other equipment. He had a gift for fixing almost anything and was always willing to lend a helping hand when someone needed it. He also cherished spending time fishing with his father, Tommy, creating memories together doing something they both loved. A true people person, Jeff never met a stranger. His quick wit, practical jokes and warm personality made him a friend to many and brought smiles to countless faces.

Jeff cherished his lifelong friendship with Jody Weir, whom he often referred to as his "brother from another mother". They could often be found working together in the shop.

Above all, Jeff loved his family. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he cherished every moment spent with them. He was a devoted Christian and member of Woodward Baptist Church, where his faith guided the way he lived and served others.

Jeff's life was a testament to hard work, integrity, kindness, and faith. Heaven gained a faithful servant, a loving husband, a proud father and grandfather and a friend to all. While we will miss his familiar laugh, his wise advice and seeing him riding across the yard on one of his many "toys", we rejoice in knowing that one day we will see him again.

While his family grieves his absence, they find comfort in God's promise: "Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:23.

Visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at Woodward Baptist Church in Chester, South Carolina, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m with Rev. Keith Hinson officiating.  Interment will be private.
