Jeffery Eugene Dillinger

Jeffery Eugene Dillinger, 68, died Monday, September 7, 2026. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm, Friday, September 11, 2026 at First Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Melvin Pressley officiating. Interment will follow at Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm, Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Barron Funeral Home and other times at the home of Marion and Diane Dillinger.

He was born April 23, 1958 in Chester, SC and was the son of the late Ralph M. Dillinger and Lois Viola Wilkie. He attended the schools of Chester County and retired from Milliken but worked with Springs Industries for over 32 years until its closing. Jay loved fishing, old cars, working on old cars, watching westerns and Sunday afternoon rides with his wife and daughter. He was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. 

He is survived by his daughter, Melissa Ann Dillinger of Chester, SC; four sisters, Mildred Goings of Chester, SC, Frances Langley of Chester, SC, Sadie Slack of Gaffney, SC and Patsy Ferrell of Chester, SC; three brothers, Mitchell Dillinger (Christine) of Chester, SC, Gayland Dillinger (Angela) of Chester, SC and Marion Dillinger (Diane) of Chester, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; in addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of over 47 years Mary Diane Smith Dillinger and his sister, Brenda Lynn Dillinger McMahan.
