Chester- Mrs. Jean H. Flagg, 94, of Crooked Creek Lane, Lowrys, SC, passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, at White Oak Manor of York. No services are planned at this time. Born March 28, 1927, in Butler County, Pa., she had resided in Lowrys for the past 22 years and formerly lived in Pennsylvania, California, Savannah, GA, and Tuscon, AZ. She was a well-traveled, creative woman. Mrs. Flagg was known throughout the Lowrys community for her years of work in the kitchen at Stephenson's Dairy. She was a nationally known porcelain artist, winning numerous awards over 50 years. For the majority of her life, she enjoyed playing the piano for churches. She was passionate about her poodles, the arts, and politics Mrs. Flagg is survived by two siblings of Pennsylvania, Mrs. Helen Cross Reep, Clarence Earl Cross; a daughter, Mrs. Carol Carlson Grant of Lowrys; four grandchildren, Mrs. Cindy Johnson Egan of Thomasville, GA, Dr. Christy Johnson Moore of Savannah, GA, and Mrs. Andrea Grant Durante of Fort Mill, SC; Mr. Justin Flagg of California; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons; and the Cross clan that she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her husband, Durlin James (Jim) Flagg, Jr; her daughter, Miss Duary Jean Carlson; her parents; and numerous siblings.
