CHESTER Mr. James Gill Watts, Sr., 89, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at Uni Health in Rock Hill, SC.The funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, October 3, 2013 at Trinity Presbyterian Church with Rev. Rick Wheeler and Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating.The interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Wednesday evening at Barron Funeral Home. Born March 11, 1924 in Richburg, SC, Mr. Watts was the son of the late John David Watts and Della Jordan Watts.He attended Oakley Hall School and was a WWII veteran of theU.S. Navy.Mr. Watts was retired from SchlegelCorporation and the Chester News and Reporter.He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church where he was Deacon Emeritus. He is survived by one son, James G. “Jimmy” Watts and his wife Vanessa of Chester; one daughter, Jerry Heatley and her husband Randall of Elloree, SC; eight grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; two brothers, Warren “Pappy” Watts of Richburg and Sam Watts of Fountain Inn, SC; four sisters, Margaret McWatters of Richburg, SC, Della Wylie McCorkle of Lando, SC, Joyce Hall of Lancaster, SC and Louise Lathrop of Chester.He was preceded in death by his wife Wilma Wolfe Watts, a son, Albert L. Watts, Sr. one granddaughter, Danni Watts Braham and two great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 651 Great Falls Highway, Chester, SC 29706.
