Chester Mr. James Richard Wade, Sr., 82, died Thursday, July 1, 2021 at his home.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday July 3, 2021 at Chester Freedom Ministers with Rev. Steve Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Saturday July 3, 2021 at Chester Freedom Ministers. Mr. Wade was born September 26, 1938 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late Albert Wilson Wade and Verle McGuirt Couch. He was a graduate of the schools of Chester County and was retired from Springs Industries and York Tech. He was a veteran of the US Air Force.Mr. Wade was a member of Chester Freedom Ministers where he was a deacon, shepherd, a small group leader and a lifelong Sunday school teacher. Mr. Wade also served his Lord and his community through his talent and ability to repair home appliances. He is survived by four children, Rick Wade (Laura)of Union, SC, Kathy Harvey of Gaffney, SC, Donnie Wade (Tracy) of Chester, SC and Michael Wade ( Jamie) of Chester, SC; thirteen grandchildren Erin (Matt), Shannon (Chris), Kaitlyn (Justin), Jennifer, Amy (Jordan), Elizabeth, Hannah, Corey, Allie, Rayden, JT, AJand Jacob; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Dink Wade (Joyce) of Chester, SC ; numerous nieces and nephews; Mr. Wade was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years Doris Lankford Wade,his sister Eleanor Gregory , his son-In-law Jay Harvey.
