James Saye Shrader

Mr. James Saye Shrader, 80, died Thursday, September 1, 2022, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2022, at Chester Memorial Gardens with Rev. Steve Bishop officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. Mr. Shrader was born July 7, 1942 in Chester, SC and was a son of the late David Shrader and Mary Emily Whitesides Shrader. He was a graduate of Chester High School and Erskine College. He was employed for many years with Springs Industries and after his retirement with Batteries Plus in Rock Hill. Jimmy was a member of First Baptist Church in Rock Hill. He loved fishing, golf, and football. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. He is survived by one daughter, Christy Waldrop (John) of York; two grandsons, Austin Hall of Winterville, GA and Bryson Hall of Statesboro, GA; two step grandsons, Samuel Waldrop (Katie) of Shallotte, NC and Joseph Waldrop of Ashe, NC; two brothers, Bruce Shrader of Florence, SC and Clark Shrader (Gail) of Lancaster, SC; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Judith Davis Shrader and his brother, Larry Shrader.
