Chester On February 20, 2023, James Randall Laws died unexpectedly in a car accident. He was 19 years old. James’s celebration of life service will be held at 6:00 pm, Friday, February 24, 2023 at Chester Freedom Ministries 729 Village Dr. Chester, SC. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 6:00pm. Flowers can be sent to 729 Village Drive Chester, South Carolina. James was born on March 18, 2003 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He graduated from Chester High School in 2021 and attended York Technical College. He was a forklift driver for West Marine. James was an active Boy Scout member in Troop 66. He was a varsity golf member and a private in JROTC in high school. He globally ranked in the top 300 in CSGO. His favorite time of the year was Christmas. He loved animals and had a huge caring heart. James is survived by his parents, Shannon and Corey Hyde of Chester, SC, his siblings Sarah (and Noah)Smith, Allison (and Damien)Gregory, Kevin Laws Junior, Hunter Hyde, Skyler Hyde, his grandparents Linda and Bill Stevens, Linda and Budd Panik, his great grandmother, Arline Christenbury, his nephews Liam Smith, Easton Hyde and niece, Charlotte Gregory, his girlfriend Tyra Queen and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many great and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Landis Hyde, and his great grandfather Mayford Christenbury.
