James Arledge Nichols

Mr. James Arledge Nichols, Jr., 58, died Wednesday, January 31, 2018.Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Woodward Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Hinson officiating.Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, February 2, at Woodward Baptist Church, 1570 Ashford Rd., Chester, SC. Mr. Nichols was born May 25, 1959 in Union, SC and was a son of Dorothy Smith Nichols and the late James Arledge Nichols, Sr.He was a graduate of Union High School and Winthrop University.Mr. Nichols was an Eagle Scout, a private pilot and a Pokemon professor.He was Director of York County Dept. of Social Services.Mr. Nichols was a member of Woodward Baptist Church. In addition to his mother, Dorothy Nichols of Union, he is survived by his wife, Sheila Brunet Nichols; one son James Arledge “Tripp” Nichols, III; two sisters, Kakie White (Sam) of Union and Tweedie Mills (Mike) of Winnsboro; and one brother, Skee Nichols of Union.
