CHESTER Mr. James Nelson Laws, 79, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Chester Regional Medical Center.The funeral service will be 12:00 Noon Thursday, March 29, 2012 at Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. David Sealy officiating. The interment will be at Chester Memorial Gardens.The family will receive friends from 7:00 ? 8:00 pm Wednesday at Barron Funeral Home. Born April 18, 1932 in Bryson City, NC, Mr. Laws was the son of the late Edmund Laws and Bonnie Ramey Laws.He attended the schools of Chester County and was retired from Chester Telephone Company after forty-nine years of service.He was a veteran of the US Army during the Korea War having received a purple heart and bronze star.He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Iva Yarborough Laws of over sixty years; one son, Randy E. Laws of Bennettsville, SC and one daughter, Judy L. Bickett of Chester; ten grandchildren, Albert Watts, Laurie Watts, Kevin Laws, Dani Branham and Scott Laws all of Chester and Carla Young and Tracy Corson both of Blythewood, Sharon Jones of Charlotte, NC and Tiffany Starnes and Jamie Laws of Rock Hill, SC; nineteen great grandchildren, Crista Ferrell, Michael Ferrell, Cody Ferrell, Christian Laws, Sydney Laws, Bratton Young, Kellan Young, Layla Grace Young, Allison Laws, James Laws, Kevin Laws, Jr., Iva Marie Watts, Ethan Watts, Mathew Evans, Severance Branham, Tyson Watts, Kiara Laws, Nathan Laws and Zoey Laws.He was preceded in death by a son Michael Danny Laws.
