James Pruitt Mcmanus

Rock Hill, SC: James Pruitt McManus, Jr., 84, died Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Piedmont Medical Center, Rock Hill. A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Barron Funeral Home with Mr. Dean Birch officiating. The family will also receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at Barron Funeral Home. Interment will be held in Chester Memorial Gardens. Mr. McManus was born in Mecklenburg County, N.C. on June 16, 1928. He was a son of the late James P. McManus, Sr. and Eva Wilson McManus. Mr. McManus attended the schools of Chester County, wa a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during W.W. II and was retired from Springs Industries as a slasher. He is survived by one niece, Deborah Birch Parker of Lockhart, SC; one nephew, Dean Birch of Lowrys, SC and one great nephew, Dean Birch III of Chester, SC all whom he reared. Other survivors are great nieces Brandy Lawson, Betty Birch, Tribly Orr and several great-great nieces and nephews. Mr. McManus was preceded in death by a nephew whom he reared, Ricky Birch and two sisters, Betty Birch and Lonavay Mobley. Memorials may be made Samaritan's Purse, P.O.
