Chester Mr. James Marshall Culp, 75, died Sunday, August 3, 2014, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 8, 2014, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev. Clint Davis officiating.Interment will follow in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6:00 Pm to 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 7, at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie St., Chester, SC. Mr. Culp was born August 30, 1938 in Chester County, SC and was a son of the late Cecil L. Culp, Sr. and Ila Hedgepath Culp.He attended the schools of Chester County, served in the U.S. Navy, and retired after 45 years of service with Springs Industries.Mr. Culp was an avid fisherman and Atlanta Braves fan. He is survived by his companion of over 30 years, Nancy S. Ford; his children, Cindy C. Gaughen (Josh) of Naples, Italy, Mike Culp (Lorraine) of Rock Hill, Jeff Culp (Nancy) of Chester, and Greg Huntley (Wanda) of Tampa, Florida; children of Nancy Ford, John, Frank, Joseph, Jeff, and David Ford; ten grandchildren, Ashley Parks (Jeremy) of Stafford, Va., James Traylor (Lauren) of Chapin, SC, Anna Gaughen of Naples, Italy,Christy Roberts (Chris) of Rock Hill, SC, Leah Spiller (Casey) of Fort Mill, SC, Adam Huntley of Tampa, Fl., Joey Ford and LeAnne Dutton both of Chester, SC, and Brianne Ford and Rachel Ford both of Lancaster, SC; five great-grandchildren, Logan Traylor of Chapin, SC, Makynlee E. Parks of Stafford, Va.,Travis Deason of Rock Hill, SC, Joey Ford, Jr., and Marissa Dutton both of Chester, SC ; and one great-great granddaughter, Deliah Deason of Rock Hill.He was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil, Carol, and Walter Culp and two sisters, Dorothy Adams and Nedra Ferrell.
