James Gill Knox

Black Mountain, NC Mr. James Gill Knox, Jr., 96, died Monday, February 4, 2019 , at Black Mountain Neuro Medical Treatment Center . A graveside service will be held at 4:00 PM Friday, February 8, 2019 at Union Cemetery, in Richburg, SC with Dr. Ben Murdock officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside, 3594 Lancaster Hwy, Richburg, SC ,29729 Mr. Knox was born January 25, 1923 in Richburg, SC and was a son of the late James Gill Knox, Sr. and Susan Hicklin Knox. He was a 1940 graduate of Oakley Hall High School and was a retired farmer and was retired from the emergency medical services with Chester County. He is survived by one son Dr. James Gill Knox III ( Tonnyia) of Tega Cay, SC; one grandson, James Gill Knox, IV, (Amy) of Chester, SC; one granddaughter, Connie Bagley Knoxof Raleigh , NC; two step- grandchildren, Carrie Bougus Williams (Matthew)of Charlotte, NC and Kurt Bougus of Richburg, SC; and three great-grandchildren, Jordan Elizabeth Knox, Rachel Taylor Knox and James Grayson Knox;one niece, Margaret Susan McCandless Hausman, ofChester, SC, and one cousin Jean Nichols of Richburg, SC.
