James Richard Hooker

James Richard Hooker, Jr., 60, died Wednesday September 6, 2023 at Atrium Health Main, Charlotte, NC. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 30, 2023 at First Baptist Church, Richburg with Reverend Michael Shaffer officiating. Burial will be in Union ARP Church Cemetery. Richard was born in Pineville, NC and was a son of the late James Richard Hooker, Sr. and Nancy Miles Hooker. He was a graduate of South Mecklenburg High School and was employed with Herlocker Mechanical Services as a Supervisor. Richard loved the beach, scuba diving, fishing and his dogs. In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his son, Brandon Hooker and his sister Robin Hooker Berryhill. He is survived by his wife, Cammy Smith Hooker and his children, Jessica Phipps (Jamie) of Bennettsville, SC, Nicole Jackson (Kyle) of Georgia, and Morgan, Marina and Marissa Hooker all of North Carolina; his granddaughter, Layla Phipps; his nephew, Will Berryhill (Crystal) and his niece, Alanna Williams (Stevie).
