Chester Mr. JamesWilliam “Jimmy” Ford, Jr., 61, died Thursday, March 1, 2018, at Providence Healthin Columbia. Funeral serviceswill be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 5, 2018, at Barron Funeral Home with Rev Michael Shaffer officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AMto 11:00 AM Mondayat Barron Funeral Home. Mr. Ford was born April 20, 1956 in Chester County, SC and was a son ofthe late James W. Ford, Sr. and Nancy White Ford. Hewas a graduate of Chester High School and York Tech and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired from Miller Truck Leasing as a diesel mechanic. Mr. Ford was an avid Atlanta Braves fanand loved to fish. He was a member of Orrs Baptist Church. Heis survived by two sons, Josh Ford (Paula) and Jason Clinton (Shannon) both of Chester; one daughter Joni Helms of Edgemoor; four grandchildren Christopher Clinton, Makayla Helms, Caleb Clinton, Kamdyn Ford; two sisters, Susan Robbins (Rick) of Chester and Cindy Peeples (David) of Richburg; his beloved dog “Pup-Pup”; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Ford was preceded in death by his wife of over 30 years, Angela Bagley Ford. Memorials may be made to Richburg Fire and Rescue, 224 N.
