CHESTER, SC: Mr. James William Elms, 80 died Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Providence Hospital in Columbia, SC.The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Purity Presbyterian Church Sanctuary.A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Purity Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sam Roberson officiating.The interment will be private. Born April 17, 1936 in Withington Manchester, England, Mr. Elms was a son of the late John James Elms and Ruth Alice Reed Elms.He was a graduate of Rudheath High School, Northwich England and Northwich and Manchester Art Colleges.He was retired co-owner and operator of Zenith Engraving.Mr. Elms was an avid golfer and a board member of the Men’s Golf Association. He is survived by his wife of twenty-nine years, Janis Poston Elms; four children, Suzie Elms of Blackstock, SC, James Elms (Sheryl) of Greensboro, NC, Jon Elms (Judy) of Chester, SC and Samantha Sloan (Scott) of Rock Hill, SC; eight grandchildren, Chelsea, Colin, Wilson, Brandon, Nicholas, Chandler, MerryScot and Grace; two sisters, Janene Robinson and Jennifer Kent (John) both of Northwich, England; one brother, Jeff Elms of Beaumaris, England.
