James Simpson Darby, Iii

Mr. James Simpson Darby III, "Jim," 53,  passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025 at his home in Lowrys where he claimed "he never bothered nobody.” A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Zion Cemetery with Rev. Kevin Taylor officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 2:45 PM at his sister’s house.

Jim was born February 17, 1971 in Chester, SC and was the son of the late James Simpson Darby, Jr. and Jewell Elaine Darby. Jim was a true friend who delighted us with his crazy sense of humor and outrageous shenanigans. He was an outdoors-man at heart and loved hunting, fishing and sitting by a fire. He enjoyed his deer hunting trips to the lower part of the state along with kayaking and camping trips to “Goat Island.” His most treasured outing was eating at Cracker Barrel with his best friend. Jim was a former Chester County Sheriff Deputy. He was currently employed with Professional Tree and Stump Service. His friends and family will surely miss him.

He is survived by his three children, Sallie Elizabeth Darby, Emma Louise Darby and James Simpson Darby IV, "Simp;” his two nephews, William Whugray Clack and Darby Lee Clack, as well as one niece, Jewell DuPre Clack, and his sister DuPre Darby Clack. He loved all of them unconditionally.
