James Ellis "Jim" Culp

CHESTER: Mr. James Ellis “Jim” Culp, 73, died Sunday, December 6, 2015 at his home.A service will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Uriel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Rev. Michael Shaffer officiating.The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside and other times at the home. Born September 21, 1942 in Fort Mill, SC, Jim was a son of the late Gilbert T. and Mary L. “Polly” Dawkins Culp.He was a graduate of Lewisville High School and retired from General Tire in Charlotte, NC as an electrician.He was a member of Uriel Presbyterian Church.Jim loved the outdoors and also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of over fifty-three years Mary Ann Mabry Culp; one daughter, Heather Culp Smith and her husband Michael of Lexington, SC; two grandsons, Ellis Smith and Graylenn Smith both of Lexington, SC; one brother, Edward T. Culp and his wife Judy and a niece Erin Culp all of Chester, SC.He was preceded in death by a niece Genia Culp Dove and one nephew Eric Culp.
