James Edward Copeland

Chester, SC:James Edward “Eddie” Copeland, Sr., 62, died Thursday, April 15, 2021 at his home. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Sunday April 18, 2021 at Barron Funeral Home. The family will receive friends also Sunday at Barron Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. Interment will be held in Zion Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mr. Copeland was born in Kershaw County, SC and was a son of the late Edward Milton Copeland and Geraldine Goude Copeland. He was a graduate of Chester High School and formerly worked with Springs Industries. Eddie was a member of First Baptist Church, Lowrys. He loved baseball having played much in his younger days and also enjoyed softball. Eddie loved God and his family. He was a great father and husband. In addition to his parents, Mr. Copeland was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristie Marie Copeland Deas and his great-granddaughter, Ariel Rivera. He is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Johnnie Feaster Copeland; one son, James Edward “Eddie” Copeland, Jr. of Chester, SC; three grandchildren, Summer Renee Rivera of Chester, SC , Marty Allen Deas, Jr. of TN and Breanna Marie Copeland of Chester, SC; five great-grandchildren, one sister, Janet Lee Johnson and one brother, Timmy Copeland both of Chester, SC and numerous nieces and nephews.
