CHESTER Mrs. Jacqueline Bowers Jones, 79, of Chester died November 24, 2008 at Chester Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will 2:00 PM Wednesday at Orrs Baptist Church with Reverend Curtis Marshall, Reverend Dennis Willoughby and Reverend Randall Runion officiating.Interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. Born October 13, 1929 in Lumpkin County, GA, Mrs. Jones was a daughter of the late Buster and Blanche Elizabeth Bryant Bowers.She was a graduate of the schools of Lumpkin County, Georgia.She was a member of Orrs Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School Teacher, choir member, and Bible School Worker and assistant church pianist.She was retired from Chester Sportswear and also worked with B.C. Moores Department Store. Surviving are her husband, Ben Jones; one daughter, Sue J. Thompson and her husband John of Chester, SC; two sons, Joe Jones and his wife Cathy of Chester, SC and Jimmy Jones and his wife Janet of Blackstock, SC; three grandkids, Katie J. Carter and her husband Jeb of Chester, SC, Ben Thompson of Rock Hill, SC and Jacob B. Jones of Blackstock, SC; three sisters, Sue B. Adams of Dahlonega, GA, Imogene B. Clark of Clemont, GA and Willodene B. Ledford of Dahlonega, GA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 ? 8:00 p.m Tuesday at Barron Funeral Home, 133 Wylie Street, Chester.
