CHESTER: Mrs. Isabel Sims “Izzy” Wylie, 93, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 24, 2014 at the Chester Regional Nursing Center.The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Clay Waldrip, Rev. Clint Davis and Rev. Eric Shepard officiating.The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the church sanctuary.The interment will be private. Born October 6, 1920 in Chester, SC, Izzy was the daughter of the late Stark Mijeman Sims and Nell Lyons Sims.She was a graduate of Chester High School and retired with the Chester County School District with over thirty years service as cafeteria manager.Izzy was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church where she was able to express her passionate love for Jesus by serving as a former Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of the Eastern Star where she served as aRainbow Girls Mother Advisor. She was the widow of W.C. “Pete” Wylie, Jr. She is survived by two daughters, Sims Wylie Lynn (Robert) of Chester, SC and Sandra E. “Sandy” Wylie of North Augusta, SC; four grandchildren, five great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Linda Wylie of Chester and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son William Clifford “Cliff” Wylie, III. Sims and Sandy wish to express their heartfelt thanks to all of the nursing center personnel who cared for “Izzy” and a special thank you to Lisa who made the beautiful quilt which was buried with her.
