Hugh Davis McCarley

Hugh Davis McCarley, 89, died, Thursday, October 29, 2026 at Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte, NC. There will be a gathering of friends and family from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Monday, November 2, 2026 at Barron Funeral Home.

Mr. McCarley was born August 1, 1937 in Chester, SC and was the son of the late Henry McCarley and Lucille Perry McCarley. He was a high school graduate and retired from Springs Industries as a slasher tender and fixer. He was a member of SCANG and a member of Chester Masonic Lodge. Hugh was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. 

He is survived by two sons, Steven McCarley (Patricia) of Chester, SC and Rick McCarley (Kelsey) of Edgemoor, SC; three grandchildren, Erica, Richard and Alisha; one great-grandson Aiden; one sister, Betty Jean Walters of Rock Hill, SC and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Loretta Hildreth McCarley; three brothers, Lloyd, Doug and Jimmy McCarley his sister, Evelyn McCarley Yarborough and half-brothers John Henry and Walter McCarley.
