Mr. Hoyt McConnie Hendrix, 90, died Wednesday, November 17, 2010 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital in Newberry, SC.He was formerly of Fairview Drive in Chester, SC.The funeral service will be 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 21, 2010 at Wesley United Methodist Church in Chester with Rev. Arthur D. Vick and Rev. John Griffith officiating.The interment will be in Chester Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:00 ? 3:00 PM Sunday at Wesley United Methodist Church, 1217 J.A. Cochran Bypass. Born August 30, 1920 in Saluda County, SC, Mr. Hendrix was the son of the late Julian Oscar and Lillie Bell Morris Hendrix.He was a graduate of O?Neal High School in Prosperity, SCand attended Spartanburg Junior College before the out-break of WWII.He was a US Army Air Corp veteran and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He was the widower of Grace Bedenbaugh Hendrix. He is survived by two sons, Dan Hendrix of Chester and Jon Hendrix Sr. and his wife, Carol Steigner of Newberry; three grandchildren, Jon Hendrix, Jr. of Washington, DC, Jim Hendrix of Nashville, TN, and Katie Hendrix Alexander and her husband, John, both of Lexington, SC.He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
